The Business System Analyst owns the typical BSA responsibilities along with performing the role of Product Owner on a high-performing Engineering team developing core products for our clients. In this role, you work with our customers, identify problems that need to be solved, manage a backlog, and collaborate with technical teams to deliver features for our customers while improving the scalability of our financial platform. You are part of an agile delivery team that is responsible for building and delivering the product. You work collaboratively with our product and leadership team to ensure the product is aligned with our vision, strategy, and roadmap.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with the ability to identify and pursue opportunities without being provided explicit direction. Strong presentation skills, analytic skills, and a passion for improving consumer experiences using technology are essential.

Job Duties:

▪     Establish and maintain strong working relationships with various stakeholders of projects gathering and understanding their requirements, communicating status, and working towards solutions

▪     Meet with stakeholders (internal and external) to understand their needs and manage expectations

▪     Internalize and deeply understand complex technical problems and how they impact our customers and our teams

▪   Pair with UX Design Team on customer calls to validate and own story definition

▪     Be the voice of the customer and provide a business perspective on value during day-to-day development

▪   Maintain and prioritize the product backlog

▪     Collaborate with the Engineering team to define, design, accept, and adapt features, including in-depth technical discussions

▪   Write compelling specs that engineers will want to work on

▪   Responsible for quality through acceptance of stories

▪   Prepare business readiness activities to get customer and end users ready to adopt the product

▪   Run customer demos for features and full product

▪   Know when to escalate issues to management

▪   Communicate status on features to appropriate stakeholders

▪   Make software development process and teams more efficient, more effective, and more fun

▪     Actively participate in the creation, implementation, and continuous improvement of new product development processes


▪   A business undergraduate degree, computer science or other engineering degree equivalent

▪   Minimum of 4 years relevant experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, or Product

Manager in an agile (Kanban, Scrum, XP) environment

▪     A passion for, and experience with, agile software development and improving consumer experience

▪   Leadership traits, with the capability to motivate and influence the delivery team

▪     The ability to make trade-off decisions between possible and desirable, which requires a good sense of technical feasibility

▪   Enjoyment for working in a highly collaborative, fast paced environment

▪   Ability to understand and represent both the business and users

▪   Personable and team player

▪   Self-motivated, organized

▪   Excellent written communication and presentation skills

▪   Experience with JIRA tool is a bonus
