Job Description:

Responsibilities include performing all general accounting functions such as accounts payable and receivable, recording general ledger transactions, month-end closing process, reconciliations, and other processes.  In addition, he or she also assists in preparing financial statements, required regulatory reporting, and special projects.  The Accountant reports to the Controller.

Ability to work independently and work effectively on multiple projects with different associates.  You must also represent the Firm in a positive professional manner.  You must also be able to quickly assimilate information and address problems in a fast-paced team environment.  Effective verbal and writing skills.  In addition, possess excellent conceptual and problem-solving skills and Willingness to travel on occasion

Additional desired skills include: knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including GAAP.  Also experience with automated financial and accounting reporting systems and knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.  You will also need to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections

Other Requirements:

Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required, CPA candidate preferred.  8-10 years of Accounting experience preferred and a sound understanding of accounting and relational database systems preferred

Position Responsibilities:

Provides support of accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed and Prepare and complete bank deposits. Support the preparation of financial and operating reports including trial balances, adjustments and closing entries. Assist in analysis and interpretation of accounting records for use by management, e.g., RIA modeling.  Complete Posts, verify, and reconcile general ledger accounts and retains all accounting records of transactions.  Assist in the recording and depreciation of fixed asset transactions.  Perform month-end closing duties to include the recording and posting of month-end journal entries, preparation of month-end reconciliations and assisting with the preparation of the monthly financial statements.  Prepare personal property and business license tax for all locations for review.  Provides requested schedules and other documentation during external audit and regulatory audits.  Assist in maintaining the company’s system of accounts and books and records on all company transactions and assets in accordance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements.  Create internal, ad hoc analyses and reports as needed.  Maintain a high level of confidentiality.  Analyze, prepare and input data to produce accurate and timely payroll.  Resolve discrepancies with third party payroll vendor and/or local, state and federal taxing agencies. Review semi-monthly and off-cycle payrolls, quarterly and year-end reports for accuracy and required reporting. Uploads 401k contributions file from payroll into 401k website.  Assist HR Director, CFO and Managers with compensation related issues.
